Koh Kian Huat, one of the oldest tea company in Singapore, was founded in 1918 by tea merchant, Koh Hoon Peng (Gao Yun Ping).

Koh was born to a tea-making family in Fujian province and his father operated tea houses in Anxi county, a region famed for Tie Guan Yin.

One of the founding members of Singapore Chinese Tea Importer and Exporter Association (SCTIEA) set up in 1928, he was a pioneer in supplying quality tea to the local Chinese community.
